Marble flooring for the exhibition Homo Faber
Homo faber – a unique exhibition which celebrates craftsmanship in Europe. It was my pleasure to be part of it, since together with the team of Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli I had a chance to create the flooring mosaic for the project Imaginary Architecture by India Mahdavi. The two spaces she created for the exhibition show that traditional fine craftsmanship does have a place in the modern world, and that traditional artisanal techniques can be used to create exciting new spaces for contemporary life. The black-and-white mosaic we created has an easy and fine pattern, but with the right match of materials it makes you feel like walking on the sea waves.
